`No room for corruption in CCM in 2015`

Ambassador Seif Ali Idd
The Second Vice President of Zanzibar, Ambassador Seif Ali Idd, has said that any member of CCM expecting to vie for a leadership position, including legislative seats through corrupt ways will be thrown out of the party during the 2015 elections.
Ambassador Idd issued the warning when opening the special general meeting for the election of the Singida Regional Party Chairperson at Uhazili College here.
Iddi urged voting members not to be corrupted, saying they could take the money, but should not vote in those who bribed them.
“I would like to use this opportunity to remind you that contestants pinning their hopes on use of money to win offices should count themselves as having failed," he said, adding that anyone voting in corrupt leaders would be undermining the party, leading it to be nick-named as the party of the corrupt.
He said it was important to ensure that only committed and dedicated leaders were elected so that they would faithfully defend and fight for party solidarity and growth.
In another development, some members of the special general meeting from Mkalama District disappeared from the hall and were found walking around in Singida town, and when asked to explain themselves, they said that they came for just one work -- to elect the CCM Regional Chairperson who must come from their district, Mgana Izumbe Msindai.
Earlier, welcoming the guest of honour to open the meeting, exiting Regional Chairperson, Joramu Alute, boasted of the successes the party has gained under his leadership, saying that the party only lost a few areas in both 2005 and 2010 general elections as well as those at the local government level.
He said that there were two more districts in the region, which was a big plus for his leadership.
